In the third quarter of 2023, the performance of the top fast food and fast casual restaurant apps on iOS in Africa exhibited diverse trends in weekly downloads and active users. Here’s a closer look at how these apps performed based on Sensor Tower data.

McDonald’s - Non-US saw fluctuations in weekly downloads, starting with approximately 14.1K at the end of June and experiencing a dip in July, with numbers reaching around 9.8K. However, the app recovered in August and September, peaking at 12.7K downloads in the final week of September. Active users also varied, with a notable drop from 119.7K at the end of June to around 85.8K in mid-September, before rising again to 106.5K in the last week of the quarter.

KFC South Africa maintained relatively stable weekly downloads, with figures hovering around 3.5K to 4.2K throughout the quarter. Active users showed a slight increase, starting at 47.7K in late June and ending at about 50.2K by the end of September.

KFC Egypt - Order Food Online experienced a downward trend in weekly downloads in July, falling to a low of 2.4K, but saw a resurgence in September, reaching a high of 5.2K in the last week. Active users followed a similar pattern, starting at 16.1K in late June, dipping mid-quarter, and then rising to 16.7K by the end of September.

Buffalo Burger had a varied download trend, starting strong with 3.2K in late June but dropping to around 1.4K in early August. It rebounded in late August and September, finishing the quarter with 2.4K downloads.

Debonairs Pizza South Africa showed consistent weekly downloads, ranging between 2K and 3.1K. Active users remained stable throughout the quarter, starting at 9.4K in late June and culminating in 9.9K by the end of September.
